The Man in the Closet

When I was around maybe, 9 or 10, we lived in a small neighborhood. I really liked the place, except for the cemetery that was close by. See, when I was younger, I HATED cemeteries. About 3 months after moving in to the new house, I started to get this weird feeling before I went to bed. I always closed my closet doors, because I didn’t like them open during the night. Then, one day my mom forgot to close them before I went to bed. That’s the night I saw it.

That night, I woke up to a strange noise in my room. I dismissed the noise, thinking it was my cat moving around. I tried to go back to sleep, but my body wouldn’t let me. I started to get scared. I got up, and looked straight into the closet. What I saw there is hard to explain, but I’ll do my best to tell you what it looked like. It was a tall, slim, shadowy creature, standing right in front of me, in my very own closet.

I screamed in terror. My mom burst into my room to see what was wrong. But as she burst in, the creature disappeared. I told her all about what I had seen, but she brushed it off, saying that I just had a nightmare. I asked her if I could sleep in her room that night, and she said yes. I was glad she said yes because, as she left the room, I saw the figure appear back in my closet.

The next day, I forgot about the figure I saw. That night my mom closed the closet door, and I dozed off after maybe, 30 minutes. I, once again, woke up at about 1:00 AM. I looked around, and then I noticed a strange thing at the foot of my bed. I tried to feel it with my foot, but couldn’t. Then, it turned around. I saw a mangled, torn, and broken face staring at me. I started to feel sleepy, after seeing it, and blacked out.

I haven’t seen it since then, but I’m still having nightmares about it today. It was one of the most terrifying things that’s ever happened to me.

If this actually happened to you, that’s pretty fricken creepy.
