Room 1666

THE INTERVIEW

This is a story about a man, named Robert Maul, who stayed in a hotel for a night. The room was number 1666. This was no ordinary hotel room. This hotel room had a majority of unexplained deaths. Robert didn’t know about this. He is the only person to survive being in that room. Here is his story…

My name is Robert Maul. I used to not believe in spirits and demons. But after I stayed in that room, room 1666, I believed. I didn’t want to believe, but with the events I had experienced, I had no choice but to believe. It all started on the night of October 6, 2011.

I had been driving for over 4 hours and needed some sleep. So I decided to make the worst decision of my life, I went to Express Hotel. It wasnt too pricey so I thought it wouldn’t be a problem to stay one night. I was wrong. Very very wrong.

I parked my car and went to go buy a room. When the lady at the counter gave me my key, she gave me a strange look. I thought nothing of it. As I walked up to my room, I had an uneasy feeling. I finally got to my room, 1666.

When I unlocked the door, everything seemed normal. Nothing out of the ordinary. As I walked in, a blast of cold air blasted my body. It was freezing. But the thermostat was set to 75° F. There was no way a mass of air that cold could have come through to that room.

When I walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, I had seen a black figure. I turned the light on as quick as I could and there was nothing there. I quickly walked out of the bathroom and the clock had shown 6:66, which is not possible. I thought to myself that I was just tired and I climbed in bed and tried to sleep.

I woke up next morning at 10:22 a.m. I looked out of the window, and it was pitch black outside as if it were midnight. I started to think that I wasnt just tired. I wanted out of that room. I was going crazy.

I walked fast to the door and it was locked from the outside. How? I kept yanking and yanking and the doorknob fell off. I was so desperate to get out of that room. The lights had started flickering and then they were out.

I was scared to death. I felt as if someone were watching me. I reached for my phone in my pocket and shined the flashlight. When I turned it on, there was a lady and she screeched loudly and then she was gone as fast as she appeared. Was I dreaming? Was I going to die?

Those were the thoughts in my head during that time. Then the lights came back on and the clock showed 6:66 again. I ran over to it and unplugged it, but it still showed 6:66. I went to my camera and recorded everything I was seeing to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.

Moments later I stopped the video. I had an idea. I ran to the hotel phone and called for checkout. The response was, “Sorry, but Express Hotel is closed… Permanently.” How is this possible!!? I just checked in hours ago. There was only one way to escape this horror. I couldn’t stand it any longer.

I grabbed for my lighter and some alcohol in the fridge. I stuffed a washcloth in the alcohol and lit it with a lighter. I had made a Molotov cocktail. I threw it and a fire had started. Smoke filled the room and I had passed out. I wanted to get out of that room so badly that I attempted to kill myself.

I woke up in the hospital. I had 3rd and 1st degree burns. Luckily, the firefighters had rescued me. But I thought the hotel was closed for good?? Was I going crazy after all. There was only one way to check.

They had placed my phone on the table beside me. I was hoping it worked after the fire. Struggling, I reached for the phone and looked for the video. There it was. I watched it, and it was everything I had recorded. It was real.

I was glad to be out of that room. I can’t explain the things that happened in that room and I never will be able to. But it was the scariest experience in my life. I was glad to be alive.

THE DAY AFTER THE INTERVIEW

Robert had just woken up from a nap and had a horrible dream about the events In room 1666. It’s the first one he has had. Why now? Was this a warning or just a dream? Robert finally woke up from the nightmare only to be in the bed of the room he wished never to see again. Room 1666.
