Hellhound

It was dark out, and I was walking home from practice. We had practice late and I was quite exhausted. My house was only a block or two from the field. I had my favorite hoodie on, it was black with a super hero symbol in the middle. My hood was pulled up, and my headphones were in, I had my hands shoved deep in my pockets, my bag hanging off my shoulders. For the fourth night in a row, I walked pass that foreboding entrance to the forest. By now the familiar feeling of someone or rather something was watching me. I turned and saw the familiar red glow of two eyes, and another red glow where the forehead was located almost like a third eye. A shiver ran down my spine, and I quickened my pace. Half a block away, I was almost home. I felt a presence behind me, but when I turned to look there was nothing. I continued until I was inside. “How was your day hunny?” my mom called out. “It was good!” I didn’t tell her about the glowing red eyes, instead I sat down to eat.

Time for me to wind down. I can hear the creature outside moving around, the glowing red eyes stare at me as I look at it. The moon shining on its black fur. Its long ears pushed forward, its head tilted almost like it was curious. I’ve noticed a couple feathers poking out of its fur behind its ear, its tail curled with the end looking like a scorpion stinger. A skull hung around its neck, and it seemed to grin at me. Rows of sharp teeth glistened in the moonlight, strings of spittle hanging from its mouth. I knew I should have taken more caution instead of believing it to be a simple trick of the mind.

11:11 the creature I now identify to be a hellhound is no longer outside my window, yet I know somehow it’s coming for me. I write this in hopes that whoever finds this notebook will heed my warning. To stay away from the forest. Don’t look into its eyes. I can hear its footsteps down the hall, not much longer now. This is my final words: I love you Mom, Dad, and Katie. I hope it doesn’t get you too, but if so I’ll see you again. I lo…

Silence…

I lo…
