The Noise From the Attic

It was September 28th, 2015. She had just moved into her new house, she had just started 8th grade, she had just turned 13. She was still in the process of moving in, boxes full of old memories, still stacked against the closet door. The walls of her room bare, lacking any sort of decoration. She loved reading scary stories, and making up her own scenarios. At her old house she had a small closet she could hide in and read, but now, in this bigger house her closet was bigger and it didn’t feel right being in a big space, so when her dad told her that the entrance to the small attic was in her room she was ecstatic. She was also afraid. She had heard stories about kids her age dissapearing from the house, and only leaving behind a light and some strange black liquid, but that’s all she took them for, stories. Just, Stories…

It was October 21st, 2015. 4 weeks scince she had first moved in. There was one more box left infront of her closet door. Her walls were covered in posters. It felt more like home. She had yet to go into the attic, for she was to busy and most of her time was spent doing homework or fantasizing over her possible new boyfriend. It was 10 pm, she had stayed up all night huddled under her blankets reading and had now finnally decided it was time to sleep. She layed her head down on her pillow she started to hear a faint noise. Thump, Thump, Thump. She ignored it and tried to go to sleep, but it continued. Thump, Thump, Thump. She told herself “Its just my mind making up things. I did just read some scary stories after all.” She tried to convince herself that it was all fake, but in the back of her mind she knew…

It was November 20th, 2015. The sounds continued every night since that first time. Every single night, while she was trying to fall asleep, all she could hear was Thump, Thump, Thump. She was concerned and everynight she lied in her bed, awake, and terrified. Of what could possibly be in her attic, what could possibly be just mere meters away. At that moment she was in the computer room, which was right next to her own room. She had just gotten back home from school and was finishing some homework when all of a sudden she heard that dreadful noise, Thump, Thump, Thump. It was not just confined to her bedroom anymore, nor was it just happining at night. Not only was it happening at different times of day and at different spots of the house, but it was also becoming louder and thumping was becoming faster. As if someone was trying to get her attention…

It was still November 20th, 2015. She had finnally gotten fed up with having to hear that AWFULL NOISE. She slammed open the door to her bedroom and opened her closet door with so much force she almost broke it off its hinges. She climed up the shelfs to the top of her closet and opened the door to the attic. She climed up into the small space and saw a figure banging them selfs against the wall trying to get someone’s attention. “H-hello” she called out to the figure. The figure stopped moving untill it slowly turned around. She could not see the figure clearly in the dark room, so she turned on her phones flashlight. Once she shined the light on to the creatures face she automatically dropped the phone at the horrendous sight. It was a girl her age who had long dirty blond hair, and tattered cloths, but the most horrifying sight of all was her glowing green eyes which was dripping a strange black liquid, as if she was crying…

It was October 21st, 2016. A few weeks after a 13 year old boy had just moved in to a house that had been abandond by its previous owner. His friends told him the tale of the house, apparently over the past few years a series of dissaperences have happened involving teenagers around his age, in that house, his friends told him that the only clues they ever found of the dissapearing children, was that in the attic, whose entrance was in the boys room, there was some sort of light sitting in a pool of black liquid. The boy didn’t believe them, and thought they were just trying to scare him. Later that night when he was trying to fall asleep he heard a faint noise coming from the attic. Thump, Thump, Thump.
