The Bloodshot Eyes in the Shed

So, when I was around the age of 7, or 8, I lived in this tiny neighborhood. My house had a slope, and halfway down the slope, there was a shed. I never really thought much about the shed, as I thought it was one of those types of  sheds that had the toilet in them. At that age I was really in to shed, so I thought a lot of sheds were those types of sheds. But, every time I would walk by it, I would get a cold chill down my spine, or feel like something was watching me.

I haven’t told anyone about this, except for my brother. I would only really walk down the slope if I was going on a walk, or riding a dirt bike. Then, one day, I thought I saw someone in the shed. I said “Hi.” and waved, and all I heard after that was a raspy wheeze of what I would call a breath. I got that same weird feeling that someone was watching me, but I dismissed the feeling thinking it was the person in the shed. Well, let me tell you, I wasn’t wrong about someone being in that shed.

I thought I felt something grab me when I walked back by the shed. At that house, there were a lot of trees surrounding us. Because of that, if you screamed, no one would hear you. The thing that grabbed me, had the sharpest claws, or nails, I’m still not sure what it was, but it hurt. When it stabbed into my shoulder, I screamed, but, like I said, no one could hear me.

When I saw the blood trickling down my arm, my eyes filled with stinging hot tears. I didn’t know if it was a bird, or a human that grabbed me, so I started to throw my elbow behind me rapidly, at a fast pace. Around the third or fourth elbow, I hit something. Whatever was grabbing me let go. I ran home faster than I ever had at the time.

The next day, I forgot about what happened. I went on my daily walk, and when I looked towards the shed, I saw the word “CLAW” painted on the shed with blood. Below that was a picture of a claw with blood trickling down it. I took note of this, and it’s still etched into the back of my mind.

When I looked into the shed, I saw the most bloodshot eyes. I turned away, as it felt like it was burning a hole into my head. I rubbed my head to check if there was any blood, but lucky for me, my head was fine. I was sure that something, not someone was in that shed. The door to the shed suddenly swung open, going at least 45 mph. It hit me in the head, knocking me out.

I woke up in the cold, pitch black shed, to the sound of a blood gurgling wheeze. Once I was fully aware of my surroundings, I started to thrash, trying to get out of there. It took me a minute or two, to realize that the door was stuck, and there was no possible way out.

I started to look around for a loose board, but when I did, all I saw were eyes, and the one sentence saying, “It Always Watches”. I slammed into the door, and that’s when I saw it. The claw was coming straight for my heart. I threw my arm up, blocking my heart. Then, the claw stabbed into my arm, ripping through the flesh. I screamed in agony. I heard footsteps outside. I felt a bit of relief. Then a heart stopping smile, with those two same, familiar bloodshot eyes appeared.

I screamed even louder. This time, the door busted open. Someone, I still don’t know who, grabbed me by the waist, and carried me home. He told me to never go near that shed again. I told him I wouldn’t, and I’m a man of my word, so I didn’t.

About a week later, I was in my bedroom, asleep, when I woke up, feeling like something was watching me. I looked to the side, when my toy truck slammed into the ground. I bolted up, now completely awake. It started to roll around. That’s when out of the corner of my eye,  I saw the heart stopping smile, with the bloodshot eyes, in torn and ripped clothing.

When it saw me staring at it, it bolted out of the room, throwing things off the walls while moving. I told my mom about what happened, but she didn’t believe me. I told her to go stand in front of the shed. Then she ran back to me with the most terrified face I had ever seen. She hugged me with the tightest squeeze I had ever felt. She looked at my father, and told him we’re moving. We moved, and nothing like that happened to me again. But I’m still paranoid that it’ll come back for revenge. Hopefully not. This could’ve been my imaginary, but I don’t think so.
