It’s 4.15 in the Afternoon

It’s 4.15 in the afternoon. You’re wandering around the house, maybe you just came back from school, or work or maybe you’re just looking for something. Suddenly, you remember that you put that something somewhere in your room. As you walk in, you are welcomed by the most horrifying sight, you feel your heart skipping beats, your vision gets blurry from the shock. In the far corner of your room, or in your closet or under the bed, you see that creature that hunted your nights, the subject of your worst nightmares, or maybe the thing that was patiently waiting by the side of your bed for you to give your last breaths when you had sleep paralysis. It doesn’t look human but you can tell that it is looking at you, counting your last seconds of life, just enough for you to realise how hopeless and alone you are. Before you can even see your life flash in front of your eyes, you start to feel the pain. You feel your skin being slowly ripped apart, your bones breaking, it’s so close you can see every little detail of the thing that’s slowly killing you, the embodiment of your worst fears. You really want to die at this moment, but you can’t. It wants you to experience as much pain as possible… but maybe physical pain doesn’t affect you anymore.

It’s 4.15 in the afternoon. You’re wandering around the house, maybe you just came back from school, or work or maybe you’re just looking for something. Suddenly, you remember that you put that something somewhere in you room. As you walk in, your reflection in the mirror caught your attention. The person in the mirror seems lifeless. It’s looking through you while slowly pulling out a knife. At this moment you are getting ready to be attacked and murdered but instead the you in the mirror is now staring at you as he is tracing a smile on his own face with the knife, from one ear to another, revealing his sharp fangs. You are petrified by the view. It’s you, but it’s the version of you that you never wanted to see, the version of you in a dystopian world.

In your reality it’s 4.15 in the afternoon. You’re wandering around the house, maybe you’re just came back from school, or work or maybe you’re just looking for something. Suddenly, you remember that you put that something somewhere in your room. As you walk in, you realise that you don’t actually remember why you entered your room, or what was that something that you were looking for, so you just shake your had and continue the day.

Have you ever wondered why that happens?
